大阪生まれ。1924年、小出楢重らと信濃橋洋画研究所を開設した。この作品は研究所のあった大阪市西区の日清生命ビルの３～４階から東方面を向いて描かれた風景。川口町から谷町３丁目を結ぶ市電、靱・本町線が描かれている。

Born in Osaka. In 1924, he established the Shinanobashi Western Painting Research Institute with Norishige Koide and others. This work depicts a landscape drawn from the 3rd and 4th floors of the Nissin Life Insurance Building in the Nishi district, where the institute was located, facing east. The city tram connecting Kawaguchi-cho to Tanimachi 3-chome, along the Utsubo-Hommachi line, is depicted.
